Many were stunned and outraged when Jesus called a hated tax collector into his inner circle. The call of Levi/Matthew reminds us that Jesus hung out with outcasts, sinners, and sick people. The only ones he really rejected were those that thought they were righteous. There's a great lesson in this truth for us today.
