As the days grow shorter and darker this time of year, we become hopeful for warmer, sunnier days to come. Hope in the Bible is not positive thinking or optimism for a change in future circumstances, though. Hope instead looks back to the witness of our God who has promised to redeem us, be with us, and offers us new life in Jesus Christ. And in this Advent season, we wait expectantly for a future we cannot see.
